Force free training methods use a reward (treats, praise, toys, anything the dog finds rewarding) for desired behaviors. Because the reward makes them more likely to repeat the behavior, positive reinforcement and force free training is one of your most powerful tools for shaping or changing your dog's behavior.
Our training allows you to communicate clearly with your dog. You decide what you want your dog to do and let it know by offering rewards when the dog does the desired action. When you reward your dog for doing things correctly, it's more likely to repeat those good behaviors because dogs aim to please.
Dogs trained using combined reward-based training are more obedient than dogs trained using punishment alone. Dogs trained using more rewards are more obedient than dogs who are rewarded less often. Studies have found that dogs are more obedient are more likely to satisfy their owners long term if positive training methods are applied.
At The Pet Dog Academy we DO NOT use any forceful approaches to dog training, this is about giving the choice back to your dog, so they make decisions for themselves to work out the correct behavior you are looking for from them. Forceful methods of training encourage fearful behavior and only produce short term results, before increasing the undesirable behaviors you are wanting to avoid.
